2021 Reflection

I can’t believe 2021 is already over! Is it just me or do the past 2 years feel like complete blur? Rather than try and predict anything for the new year, I thought I would instead reflect on what 2021 looked like for DINEvent professionally and personally.

We started off our year with our largest fulfillment project. While this was a newer business venture for us, when the opportunity came, we knew we had to jump on it!

We helped clients like North American Partners in Anesthesia (NAPA), Salsify, Milspo Media and Inteliquent with their virtual event experiences, while we waited for groups to feel safe enough to meet in-person.

By mid-2021, we felt we had turned a corner and that events were back! One client hosted an event in 10-cities on the same day and we helped secure mostly outdoor, properly social-distanced event spaces for them. Our Dining Partner base began to grow again as well as we added several national partners.

Our complimentary venue sourcing was picking up, but we noticed venues and their event departments were struggling. Queue DINEvent Private Label, created as a private dining booking partner offering venues support with booking inquiries and client communications.

In addition to Sourcing and Private Label, DINEvent Premium continued to see a rise in action as well! Sourcing will always be our “baby”, but we love when clients allow us to take part in the event planning and management too. Special shoutout to TripleTree, Dover Corporation, NAPA, Shore Consulting and Miller!

We ended the year sourcing a series of fun holiday gatherings, while working on some Premium events for 2022, including AltiumLive 2022 CONNECT happening in both the Americas and EMEA later this month.

Looking back, we had our hands in many different things this year, as no one thing was ever really back to normal. While it’s tough to say exactly what the future holds for us professionally, we are up for anything that comes our way!

On a personal note, Amanda gave birth to Lydia Rose on 12/02/2021 at 10:21PM weighing 8 lbs. 1oz. She’s loving every minute of being a mom with 2 under the age of 2.

I got engaged and am counting down the days until The Big Day. I asked Anayis to be a bridesmaid and Abigial, Amanda’s eldest daughter, to be our Flower Girl.

While splitting time between Los Angeles, Boston and Philadelphia the last 2 years, Anayis officially relocated to Boston. 2021 brought a lot of change for Anayis but one thing remains the same: she’ll never turn down an invitation to go out to eat!
