Happy two year DINEvent anniversary to me! Today marks exactly two years (to the day!) since I began working for DINEvent and let me tell you, I have loved every minute of it. I am not sure if it is normal to celebrate a work anniversary but this one feels worth celebrating.
I won’t waste time telling you about all of the hard work and travel that goes into event planning because chances are, if you’re reading this, you already know. As the celebratory champagne chills, I will share with you some of my favorite DINEvent experiences which highlight many travels around the world!
The DINEvent crew traveled to Coronado for an event summit at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort. We provided on-site event support at the three-day engagement. Before getting down to business, the team explored Coronado, enjoyed lunch at Coronado Brewing Co. and soaked up some waterfront sun by the bay. This was my first time in San Diego and I’ve been fortunate enough to visit three more times since then.
The DINEvent team has traveled to Vegas twice over the last two years: once for fun and once for IMEX. Did we see you there? If not, it’s because we were plummeting to our death on this ferris wheel. With a serious fear of heights, the 550 ft plunge from the top of Vegas’ High Roller wouldn’t be my first choice for a team-bonding activity but with Amanda and Rachel by my side, I survived with a smile! We upgraded our Vegas views with an open bar cabin and bartender to serve up the fun. The skinny margaritas really did help distract me from the unsettling surroundings…
In 2019, my co-worker and roommate from study abroad, Rachel, came to visit me in Los Angeles. We ate robata at Takami and carnitas at Red O, sipped on green juices at Malibu Farm Restaurant and fermented spirits at The Waterfront Venice - all after hiking to the top of Runyon Canyon Park. We chocked Rachel’s visit full with fun; I hope she plans another trip to visit me in 2020!
Pictured behind me here is the Hungarian Parliament Building located on the Pest side of the Danube River. We purchased tickets for a Budapest evening sightseeing cruise which gave us fantastic views of the city lit up at night. We also did a tour to see the inside of the Parliament and its crown jewels.
Dinners at Rezkakas and Koleves were certainly my favorite meals in Budapest; if you have the opportunity to travel there, I highly recommend these spots! For boozy fun, check out Boutiq’Bar. Here, I sipped on the craziest cocktail - The Budapest Barbecue - which was served with a marshmallow and a mini fire to toast said mallow. So fun!
Amanda and I stopped for a quick snap on the Eiserner Steg in Frankfurt, Germany. She and I have seen so many places together these last two years: Minnesota, Munich, Dublin and Frankfurt. I am always grateful for her willingness to explore and her taste for adventure. We have proved to be great travel buddies looking for the perfect mix of sights, snacking and sipping.
The list of work travel destinations goes on and on. Honorable mentions include: Dallas, Houston, Mankato, Akuma and Grand Cayman.
In 2020, I hope to travel to Anaheim, San Francisco, Barcelona and beyond! Let’s see if we can beat the record 48 flights I took in 2019. Cheers to these past two years at DINEvent - and to many more!
