Setting the Table is thrilled to feature our first guest blog post written by Event Sales Manager, Rachel Riefberg, after spending a December day in the Big Apple!
One of the many reasons why I love DINEvent is because we all have the flexibility to work from home. For those that don’t know, I have been living in Connecticut, where I grew up, for the last year or so. It’s amazing how close to Connecticut is to NYC, but I don’t go nearly enough which is why I set a day last month to head in and visit some of our dining partners!
For lunch, I dined at Hunt & Fish Club. DINEvent has worked with Hunt & Fish Club since October 2016, but this was the first opportunity I have had to visit. What a gorgeous restaurant with awesome event spaces! The Green Room was my personal favorite. It’s a fully-private space, set with one long table (but it can also be set in rounds!). There’s a big wall of green floral décor with red flowers sprinkled in for the holidays.
Following the delicious lunch, we did some Christmas shopping and stopped to see the tree at Rockefeller Center - a tradition I grew up with but stopped a few years ago - so fun to bring it back!
Next up, we enjoyed a quick drink at Spyglass Rooftop Bar which sits atop the Archer Hotel of the Charlie Palmer Collective. This stop was spontaneous, as we were nearby and thought why not?! A corporate holiday party with a partial buyout of the space was booked so I got the full experience as an Event Planner! I can’t wait to come back and visit Spyglass in the summertime.
On the way to dinner, we popped into Aureole - another Charlie Palmer Collective venue. This was somewhat impromptu as well and I saw them setting up for a private event happening later that night.
We had dinner reservations at longtime DINEvent partner, Pera Mediterranean Brasserie. Pera was so lively and energetic; this was a great way to end a productive and fun day. We opted to nibble on a couple different appetizers in lieu of ordering entrées and they did not disappoint! It was beneficial to finally see Pera’s private dining space in person so I can pain the picture for future DINEvent clients.
1 city. 10 hours. 4 partners. There’s nothing like NYC in December and a day like this reminded me why I enjoy working for DINEvent and with our amazing dining partners. I can’t wait to do this again soon!
Always setting the table,
Rachel
