DINEd Out Denver

Let the girls weekend commence! Ever heard of American singer-songwriter Noah Kahan? Well, he has brought us girls together in Denver this weekend for a show at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheater. To keep us busy until the show, we are eating, drinking and eating some more!

Last night’s dinner at KAWA NI was a smash hit. Rachel suggested this restaurant because it is owned and operated by not only a Connecticut native, but also friends of her family. After 15 years in business on the East Coast, KAWA NI planted its (second set of) roots in Denver earlier this year.

After being seated and devouring some pretty spectacular cocktails like Lemme See Your Pickachu and Karai Me A River, Rachel insisted that the table try the Shaved Broccoli Miso Gama and The Three Piece - both of which did not disappoint.

The table went to a vote on all other preferred menu selections and so kindly took my gluten free (Celiac!) dietary restrictions into consideration as we made our way through the menu. The restaurant staff was also super accommodating, and provided me with a Celiac-safe menu.

SHAVED BROCCOLI MISO GOMA... ham, burnt honey, crunchy ra-yu

SZECHUAN DUMPLINGS… ponzu, garlic hot oil

COLD SESAME NOODLES..... sesame-peanut sauce, chili crunch, szechuan pickled vegetables

Pictured below is The Three Piece, Red Curry Coconut Onigiri and the Spicy Lamb Dan Dan. I left dinner stuffed to the brim with spicy and nuanced Izakaya-Japanese flavors. Consider me a KAWA NI-convert!

Rather than opting for one of the three desserts at KAWA NI, we strolled down the street to Little Man Ice Cream Company for a sweet treat. Little Man is a Denver staple, so the more-than-forty-minute wait in line was expected - but was it worth it? YES! I am still drooling over the Espresso Fudge

Until next time,
