Located atop Comcast’s Center Campus, Jean-Georges at the Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia provides patrons with a truly one-of-a-kind hospitality experience. From the start of the whooshing elevator climb from street-level to Sky High (pun intended!), we knew we were in for a treat! The fully-glass elevator gave our group an expansive view of the city that only got broader as we traveled to the 60th-floor lounge and restaurant.
We hopped off the elevator with popped ears and were greeted by the hotel’s front desk staff in their main lobby. The lobby is located on the 60th-floor, you ask? Yes! Bar and restaurant patrons are directed through the lobby and into the stunning atrium pictured above. This entry was especially impressive on a quiet Sunday morning. We enjoyed a breakfast Bloody at the bar before being seated. Michelin-starred chef, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, just happened to be sitting in the dining room upon our arrival.
Our group opted for the $88.00 prix fixe brunch. To start, the table nibbled on Everything Crust Parker House Rolls with Whipped Butter and Berry Jam.
Next was the Crackling Poached Egg with Caviar, Vodka Whipped Cream and Fines Herbes. The gluten-free version utilized roe and soft, small potatoes in lieu of the Crackling Egg.
The third course was a “Shared Brunch Tower”. The top tier housed Avocado Lettuce Cups, Toasted Sunflower Seeds, Aleppo Pepper and Citrus Dressing. The middle tier was piled high with Smoked Salmon, Capers and Red Onion as well as Bayonne Ham with Fresh Figs. The bottom tier was both sweet and savory with Almond Pancakes, Fresh Berries and Maple Syrup and Potato Latkes served with Crème fraîche and House Made Apple Compote.
For the main course, diners have their choice between Black Sea Bass Fish and Crisps with Saffron Aioli, Buttered Peas and Green Chili or a Pepper Crusted Wagyu Beef Tenderloin, Tomato Confit and Béarnaise. I am a sucker for a good piece of red meat so you can guess which entrée I opted for…
Dessert was the most aesthetically pleasing dish of the day: Chocolate Passion Fruit Mousse, Honey Peanut Ice Cream, Chewy Caramel and a delicious, blue Marshmallowy treat.
By the time we left Jean-Georges, almost all the seats in Sky High were taken and many of the restaurant tables were filled. I can only imagine the electric buzz during Sky High’s cocktail-hour experience. And can you imagine the view during sunset?! Jean-Georges has DINEvent’s stamp of approval and we’d love to partner with the new Four Seasons Philly on future dining events.
As always… Setting the Table,
Anayis
